New roommate that just moved in is a neat freak and demands cleanliness- is she out of line?
I have been living in my apartment for over 4 years now, so it's definitely my "home". I live with 2 other girls, one who just moved in a week ago. Our house had been what I considered "clean" ever since she moved in- no dishes in the sink, nothing on the counter except for maybe a few crumbs, and nothings messy in the living room.
Anyway, after only a week of living with us, the girl came to me and stated she was moving out because she couldn't take the "condition" of the house. I asked her to elaborate and she said that the house was too old, there was too much dust, that she didn't realize the dishwasher didn't work, and that there was mold on the bathroom ceiling. I told her that we could just let the landlord know that the dishwasher needed repairing, and that the ceiling mold was something they took care of routinely. She was VERY snippy with me and said she needed cleanliness and that she had to dust the ledge on the wall in the hallway, and that she "just can't have that". Then, on top of it all, she was upset because she didn't know that she had to find her own replacement in order to get her deposit back. She was very rude about the whole situation and I was very taken aback by how demanding she was.
Then, a few minutes later she changed her mind, but requested that we have a meeting about hiring a cleaning lady and setting up a schedule. Now I wish she would just move out instead, especially since we weren't very nice to eachother. Is this girl out of line? She knew the condition of the house before she moved in- it was in average shape when she came to visit. Now she is barging in and demanding that we maintain her level of cleanliness, even though this is how it's always been. We never misled her into believing that the house was always spic & span. I feel as though I should keep living the same as I always have for 4 years there, and let her leave if she wants.
What do you think, is this girl out of line?
KENMORE vs BOSCH - Should be easy decision but isn't - Help?
We have our home listed for sale. One of the remarks on the MLS listing is 'top of the line appliances'. We have a "Sub Zero (Brand) Refrigerator/Freezer, an Electric Bosch Convection Oven and a Bosch Regular Oven (Both in Wall), the Microwave is a Convection too - a Bosh. The Dishwasher is also a Bosch.
PROBLEM: My husband dropped a metal fry pan on the Counter Top Electric Cook Range which was Bosch also. It shattered. We have to replace it. To replace the Bosch would be almost $3,000 -- to put in a top of the line Kenmore Cooktop would be approximately $900.
If you were buying a home would a new Kenmore Electric Cooktop turn you off....should we have spent $2,000 extra on the Bosch?
Please answer while we have time to get out of the contract (if necessary).
Kenmore is 'SEARS' own brand.
put in the kenmore and get a service contract, thru sears to repair any other screw ups, will also help your home sell
does anyone know what can be wrong with my dishwasher?
I got the dishwasher as a gift from brylanehome.com and it has never worked. I am wondering does anyone have one of these and any suggestions about how to make it work or a customer service number to contact. This is the compact counter top dishwasher
Well, you didn't elaborate on what was wrong with it....
Also when Brylane Home delivered it you should have got a booklet with the dishwasher that would include an 800 number to call. Good luck.
How to trim a cabinet to fit a new refrigerator?
I haven't had too much practice fixing much of anything that requires power tools. However, I'm pretty athletic and anticipate that if a cabinet tries to act up, I'll scare it back into shape or yell at it. But I don't want to be totally reactive on this project.
The cabinet I want to trim is the cabinet that is against the refrigerator and the part that houses the dishwasher. There appears to be about an inch of the side of the cabinet that protrudes past the counter top. What's my best method of attack for gaining that extra inch?
Thank you!
Corey
What should I do with my kitchen?
I want to remodel my kitchen but I am having a difficult time deciding what to do. My cupboards right now are pink, yes pink, and whoever painted them painted right over the hinges and everything. I know what I want to do with the cupboards, I want to paint them white with all new hinges and knobs BUT I don;t know what to do with my back splash, walls, floor, or counter top. My walls at the moment have wall tile about half way up then it's light pink to the ceiling sepeated by a dark wood chair rail in the middle. My fridge, stove and dishwasher are going to be stainless steel... I will love to hear some suggestions, I have searched the internet for weeks and still haven't seen anything I really liked!!
