Need Inexpensive Stainless Steel Dishwasher (New)?
Hey, I need to find a store where I can buy a Stainless Steel Dishwasher for my mom. Ours broke and money's kinda tight. So, I want to buy one for my mom. It needs to be inexpensive. We already have a stainless steel range and microwave. So if you guys could tell me stores. and prices too if possible. Then best answer goes to cheapest one. Haha. Thanks!
Sellers won't have house done by inspection day?
My husband and I signed a contract (contingent on inspection) with the sellers on January 9, 2009. By law, we were required to have it inspected w/in the first 5 days of the contract. The realtor suggested that we have it inspected on January 12th. We agreed & made an appointment with an inspector. The house is vacant, by the way. My husband showed up to meet the inspector (I couldn't go) and NOTHING was done! They were putting in new, stainless steel appliances, but they weren't there. The dishwasher & oven weren't hooked up. There were no light fixtures. The padding under the carpet had been replaced & the carpets were shampooed, but the carpet wasn't tacked down. The inspector was like, "Look, I really can't do the inspection with the house like this b/c all of the things I have to inspect for safey & electricity aren't done. I'll come back another time."
We called our realtor, pissed. He was like, "Oh, I'm out of state for a few days. I didn't know you were doing the inspection today." So we had to make an addendum to the contract. We wrote in the addendum that the inspection would be at 9am on January 23rd (Friday) & that everything needed to be done before then. We went by Sunday & peeked in the windows & NOTHING had been done! It was as cluttered as ever & none of the appliances or lights were hooked up. We told the realtor.
The realtor called today & said, "Well, I think 90% of it will be done by Friday." And my husband was like, "No. We've already given them 2 extra weeks to finish! It's not our fault they waited till today to start working on it."
Don't we have any legal recourse? We're in a CONTRACT with these morons & our broker is already getting all the paperwork in line & they're just farting around taking their precious time & the realtor doesn't seem to understand that he's encouraging their *illegal* behavior. I'm so stressed out. Our dates keep getting pushed back. Shouldn't they get in trouble for this somehow?
How is it not illegal to break a legal contract?
The seller has done nothing illegal. If they don't uphold their end of the contract by the specified date, then the contract becomes void. you get your deposit (earnest money) back and you can either give them more time, or move on and buy a different house.
How hard to install a replacement dishwasher?
I currently have a working dishwasher in my home, under the cabinet by the sink (typical in-home rig). However, my parents just got a fancy new dishwasher, so I grabbed their old, but awesome, stainless steel one. Appears to be the same size as my current one. Looks like it has all the instructions taped to it, but I haven't looked at them in depth yet. I am a computer tech by trade, done very basic home plumbing repairs, etc. My boyfriend works on cars, has installed ceiling fans w/ lights in our house. In other words, we have technical potential, but have never done this. How hard is it? If I have an existing dishwasher, do I need to buy any additional equipment, or is it as simple as shutting the breaker, disconnecting the one, and reconnecting the other? Any considerations we should know about? Thanks!
Do your homework before you start.
Compare both sets of instructions;
* Is the 'rough in size' the same?
* Is the electric circuit required the same?
* Is the connection the same? Hard wired or plug & cord?
* Are the plumbing fittings the same?
(You will probably need to buy some fittings/adapters here.
It's best to have them on hand before you get into the job.)
Top rack of dishwasher washing 50% of the time?
My dishwasher is 4 yrs old. It is stainless steel on the inside and out wasn't cheap. pretty much has alot of bells and whistles. i have only used cascade complete (well a few times I tried other detergents but always went back to cascade complete) I use to use powder but switched to liquid cuz there was this coating on the dishes from the powder (my theory) Now the top rack isn't washing right and i want to see if you have any idea what i can try next. this is what I have done, jet dry cleaner, CLR, vinagar, took apart the stuff inside and washed out the jets with CLR. Is there something else i can do before calling a repair guy. the bottom cleans fine, the top 50% is clean. My husbands cure for it is get a new washer but I want to exhaust everything before that step. if the repair will be pricey then i guess a new washer is the way to go
I load it the same way I always did. if i put something in that is questionable, i will spin the spray arm to insure it spins. 50% of the dishes on top come clean. I even changed the whole house filter to ensure proper water pressure. i heat the water at the sink before i turn the machine on. there is a tube that runs from the bottom to the top that provides water to the spray jet. FiL took that off and we cleaned it out. also the small arm on the top of the washer.
50% is clean or 50% of the time it gets clean? Could it have something to do with a spray arm? My top rack has a spray arm
under it. Once in a while I put something in the bottom the wrong way, and I see the arm spin when I push the top rack in (or out). That tells me I need to change something in the bottom, o
Do you think a wife would love a top of the line dishwasher as a gift from her husband for her birthday?
I am talking about a high end dishwasher, possibly stainless steel, silent operation, electronic controls, etc.
I would love, love, LOVE that! Good thinking! Only you know your wife though.
