what is difference between chest freezer and upright freezer?

need dimentions, looking for a freezer that will fit through a 30" door. Are upright freezers more expensive? What is the best brand?
The bottom line is that uprights are best for those who don't have a lot of floor space, but chest freezers perform better and are cheaper than uprights. For consumer reports ♦

what can i do to stop the frost in my upright freezer?

i recently replaced the gasket in my upright freezer, and it is still showing lots of frost in the top portion of the freezer.. the bottom is not so bad. ice is on the top of the door and on the shelves. I have adjusted the gasket, but it still frosts way too quickley.
keep it shut as much as possible

Does the evaporator fan in an upright freezer run during the defrost cycle?

My upright freezer quit cooling in the upper half, I feel the circulator fan has failed, or if this fan is controlled by a device turning it off during defrost that device has failed (in the off position) I plan on removing the fan and checking it to make sure it is good or bad, if good then I need to determine what has caused the fan to not run. The blades are not blocked.
Check to see if there is 115 volts on the two leads (hot and neutral) supplying the motor. If there is voltage and the motor won't run, the motor is bad. If there is no voltage, you have to find out where you lost it. The defrost timer does cut the motor out when the system goes into defrost, so that could be the trouble. Some units have a combination door switch which will turn the light on and cut the motor out when the door is opened. This switch could be bad. Also look for burned or loose wires. Good luck.

cleaning under a upright freezer?

I clean under my refridgerator every few months as dust collects there but how do I clean under my upright freezer? There doesn't seem to be a panel I can take off the front so I can under it.
Most newer upright freezers have wheels to let you pull them out for cleaning. You need to screw the feet (legs) usually in the front up so the wheels contact the ground and it should roll back and forth rather easily. Just screw them back down when you have it back in place.

You usually can find just about anything on there.
Just make sure you really check out whoever you do business with on there because I understand it has gotten a little shady lately.
