Deep Fryer!?!?
Ohkay- How do you creat a safe, good, deep fryer out of like a pot on the stove? Because I making empanada's and don't have a real deep fryer.
Use a big pan and fill with enough oil to fry at least one side of your empanada's, then flip them over and cook the other side. It's best if you get a mesh round metal thing ( they sell at supermarkets) to help form getting the oil splattering on you, also wear glasses in case some hot oil does get near you.
Enjoy you empanada's...haven't had them in a long time...very yummy!
Is it possible to substitute a deep-fryer for a pot of hot oil?
I don't have a deep fryer, and I want to make fried bananas. So, is there a way to heat oil to a temperature that would fry like a deep-fryer?
If so, what kind of oil should I use, how much should I use, and what temperature does it have to reach?
Thanks in advance :)
Oh, and p.s., the recipe I have uses a batter.
How are you deep frying the bananas? Wrapping in an eggroll skin or coating the banana with some type of batter or crust?
Yes, you can deep-fry by using a large dutch oven or a pot.
Use any type of oil... I suggest vegetable oil or canola oil for their neutral flavor and inexpensive price.
Heat the oil to about 350 F which is a typical middle of the road temperature for deep-frying... don't go higher than 380F or below 325F. Use a thermometer to temp the oil. Temperatures too high (above 380F) you'll brown the outside too quickly before the centers are done... temperatures too low (below 325F) oil will soak into the food making it greasier.
How much oil? Anywhere from 1" of oil or more...
What deep fryer do you recommend to eliminate odor? Do the new ones out really work?
I was looking at the Presto CoolDaddy Electric Deep Fryer. There is someone in our house who has breathing problems and I have been unable to fry for about 4 years. I really miss my homemade fried foods. I really need to know of a deep fryer you have personally used that gives off only a small odor that can be eliminated when sitting under a stove ventilator fan or one that does not give off any odor at all. Please be specific. Thanks.

These people wouldn't go four DAYS without their fav foods!
What is an alternative to using a deep fryer that is found in most kitchens?
I am making French Toast Puffs that have to be deep fryed at 350 until golden brown. I do not own a deep fryer nor do I want to purchase one at this time. Any know of an alternative to using a deep fryer? Thanks!
put oil into a pot and use that as a deep fryer. You don't need a deep fryer the only plus side to them is they tell you the exact temperature.
Can I use my deep fryer on a normal surface?
Can I use my deep fryer on a normal surface?
Or will it like, burn through the surface?
does it have padded feet on the bottom? if so then yes if not i would place a thick towel underneath.
