Can you use natural gas to fuel a turkey fryer instead of propane?
Nov 15, 2006 by highspeedkid | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I would run a line with flexible gas hose
You can but you will have to change the orifice. This is the part with the hole that releases the gas. It will have to be bigger for natural gas because it has less btu's per cubic foot. Natural gas will not save you any money, but it may be more convenient. Talk to a plumbing and heating professional to get the right part.

It clogged up on me with soot, I notice it maybe happening again because the flames are very orange??
Started with a 105,000 BTU fryer and 24,000 BTU fryer, then replaced the 24 with a 40,000 BTU fryer...perhaps each unit needs it's own regulator.?
Correction to previous answerer: Propane should measure 11-14 inches water column @ the appliance inlet.
Could be the regulator(s) are not properly adjusted or sized for the application or the piping is undersized, as well as the air/fuel mixture OR improper conversion of the appliances.
Call your local propane supplier *immediately*.

wat should a propane deep fryer burner should look like when u fry a turkey?
Nov 22, 2006 by robert c | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
temp., color, height, etc...
not sure what you mean....we always try and keep the oil at 350 degrees, so that is a matter of adjusting the regulator, this also goes for if it is windy outside. watch your thermometer and keep it at 350 and you should be fine. 3-4 minutes per pound.
if this is your first time frying.....add the turkey VERY slow to the oil!!!!! this not only keeps the oil at a constant temp, but it will save you from getting burned and having oil spill all over

Size of the propane gas tank for Turkey Deep fryer. ?
Nov 24, 2008 by Asaka | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I need to know the size of the propane gas tank for Turkey Deep fryer. Which size should be enough for one turkey?
Also I live in Jersey City area. Does anyone know where I might be able to get the container it self? Thanks!
It depends on the BTU's of the appliance. Take a look at the rating plate on there. If it is 70,000 btu or less go with a 20lb cylinder (same as a grill), but if it's much more than that, say 100,000 btu or more, you might want to get a 30 or 40lb cylinder...
The reason is twofold. First of all, the 20lber might not last long enough to cook your bird! The other reason is that the cylinder might not be able to produce enough vapor for a larger burner. Propane cylinders absorb heat out of the air around them to make the liquid inside the cylinder boil and change state to a vapor. If the cylinder is too small for the appliance it will freeze up and the burner wont operate properly...
