Any cook once eat twice recipes out there?
Jan 21, 2009 by luvthatbabyofmine | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I'm looking for some new ones. The pork or beef roast one night that turns into pulled beef or pork bbq sandwiches the next night has been done and done! You don't have to include recipes, just some ideas would be nice. Here are some I use:
1. Cook steak on the grill and serve with veggies and rolls. Cook one extra steak to refrigerate. Slice the extra steak the next day and turn it into steak salad. Serve on a bed of greens like spinach and top with tomatoes, feta cheese, walnuts and dressing. Works with chicken too.
2. Marinate chicken breasts in buttermilk (makes them very juicy). Cook a couple extra. The first night, just have grilled chicken with side dishes, the next day turn that juicy chicken into sandwiches or wraps.
3. Buy a whole roasted chicken (these are usually cheaper than buying a whole raw chicken to cook) and eat as roasted chicken with side dishes the first day and turn the left over chicken into a simple chicken casserole the next night.
4. Cook a teriyake pork loin for dinner one night and turn the left overs into pork fried rice the next night.
Favorite comebacks and disses?

I need good comebacks and disses. I always come up with them after the person has dissed me. What are your favorites? And puh-lease (lol) none of those Massie Block ones, like " Did I invite you to my BBQ" "No" "then why are you up in my grill?" That ones so overused.
Can an 8 month old attend a BBQ where there will be smoke from the grill?
Jan 18, 2009 by kim | Posted in Newborn & Baby
I know that smoke is bad and is the #1 cause of SID's which is why I am concerned about the smoke from the BBQ grill and whether or not it can be harmful to my 8 month old. Does anyone know if it's ok to have my son at a BBQ?
The BBQ will be outside, however it will be on a small patio which was my concern. You can't sit far away from the BBQ grill when the BBQ is on a patio. Thanks for all of the non-rude, non-sarcastic responses. Much appreciated! P.S. I think common sense should tell you that smoke is smoke, whether it's from a cigarette or fire...
Poll: Where can I find hardwood lump charcoal this time of year?

Home Depot and Lowe's do not have it in stock yet.
I bought a new smoker and need this!
(There is no grilling or bbq section!)
Thanks everyone!!!
try a fireplace shop or a farrier supply/ feed and grain store. or look for blacksmiths supply's. tmm
if you are just going to be smoking something think of green wet wood and regular charcoal.

Jan 17, 2009 by Katey | Posted in Vegetarian & Vegan
I bought some organic tofu (firm) and some bbq sauce. Now what do i do? I want like grilled strips and I need help. How do I grill tofu? When do I put the bbq sauce on? While its cooking? Or after wards? Please help me C: Thankyou!
Here you go:
Barbecued Tofu
* 1 pound extra firm tofu, well pressed and sliced into 3/4 inch rectangles
* 3/4 cup barbeque sauce
* 3/4 cup brown sugar
* 1 tsp chili powder
* 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
* 3/4 cup orange juice concentrate
* salt and pepper to taste
Whisk together the barbecue sauce, sugar, chili powder, pepper and orange juice over medium low heat about 3 minutes.
Place the barbecue sauce mixture in a wide flat dish, and place the tofu in the sauce, coating both sides well.
Allow to marinate for at least two hours.
Grill for 4 or 5 minutes on each side, brushing with additional sauce.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper just before serving.
