More help with my air horn setup on my crown vic,please..im begging ?
Jan 20, 2009 by Rottie | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
I bought a dual trumpet hadley air horn. Its a truck Airhorn. Im putting it on my car. I have a few questions . PLease answer thanks.
1. The air hose on the horn should be 1/4 correct , that will fit correct?
2. I am mounting the horns in the grill not facing forward but sideway.
Will this sound good and work? Any ideas where i can mount it. I dont want water getting in
3. Since horns will be in grill...then i have to put air tank and compressor toegehter in trunk...correct?
4. The compressor im using is a small tire compressor out of a booster car pack. The mini gauge on the compressor goes up to 200 and redlines at300 lb/ squ inch? Will this compressor work? It says run only for 10 min and wait to cool for another 10 min.
5. I think the horns run 90 psi if im correct. ??? Im using 2 remember, a hight and low. So is that 90 total or each...???
6. The tank im using is going to be one of those small ballon filling tanks, A friend is giving it to me. I have no idea yet what the specs are.
Will this work . he says it may be 5 gal..im not sure of the psi's on the tank...if im saying this righ...no idea
7.Now wont i need a pressure switch to put on the tank so it cuts the compressor off when the tank is full. How much of a psi switch,,, please explain in detail what i need here..i have no idea please.
8.And as far as the switch to making it sound. I will need to get a t-shape adapter ..correct? insert it between hose and run the other t part to a switch on the dash. Can i do it with just a air lever? or shoulc i get a electric solenoid ...from air to electric so i can have that pushbutton function on the dash...please advise on this..am i correct...
9' And again with the air tank...how many nipple fittings should be on it and can you explain which ones i need...
10. And where should i connect the power wire too on the car. I want it on only when the car is on. Should i connect to a constant accessory in the fuse box? which one... And what fuse amp should i use.
and thats it basically..if i left anything out ,,,please let me know...and if i can contact you via email on here if i need question on this more...i will give you great points if you help....
and remember any more info is appreciated..
thanks very much for your time and i greatly appreciate your help
sounds like you have the install pretty much figured out. no it does not hurt to turn it side ways. you should use 1/4 inch D.O.T. approved truck air line and fittings. you should use an electric solenoid switch to operate it due to not having the problem of 125 pound air pressure getting loose in your car. the pressure to operate the horn should be 80 to 90 pounds. the cutout pressure for the compressor should be 125 pounds. you would wire the pump just like a stereo amp, a fused wire from the battery to the pump switch, with a switch on the dash for the horns. they will operate properly from a single 1/4 inch air line. and you will ned two fittings on the tank. one to supply air to it, and one to supply air to the horns. 5 gallons is more than enough air tank capacity. one gallon would be enough and take less trunk space. the fuse should be what ever the compressor draws plus 5 amps. for it to be on when the car is on, wire it through a relay connected to a switched wire in the fuse box.please do not run the air lines through the Cars interior as they will increase the risk of fire. imagine what 125 pounds of air blowing on any fire will do to it.

Thanks for your help!
This one is super easy and super good. You can add any type of vegetables you want, or leave out the carrots and broccoli -- it's an easy and versatile recipe.
Broccoli Chicken Stir-Fry -- 4 - 6 servings
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
cut into thin strips
2 teaspoons oil, olive or vegetable
2 medium carrots, julienned
2 cups broccoli florets
3 1/4 cups water, divided
3 teaspoons chicken bouillon granules
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 cup cornstarch
4 cups hot cooked rice
In a large nonstick skillet or wok, stir-fry chicken in oil until no longer pink. Remove and keep warm. stir-fry the carrots and broccoli for 3-4 minutes or until crisp-tender. Remove and keep warm.
Add 3 cups water to the pan; bring to a boil. Add bouillon; stir until dissolved. Reduce heat. Add soy sauce, ginger, chicken and vegetables; cook for 5 minutes or until heated through. Combine the cornstarch and remaining water until smooth; stir into pan. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Serve over rice.

Grilling/Skillet question?
Jan 16, 2009 by .................. | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
http://www.bigoven.com/94024-Grilled-Fiery-White-Peppered-Chicken-Wings-recipe.html
It's obviously too cold for me to use the grills I have access to, so I was planning on doing this one indoors. I have a little bit of money to spare on skillets and so forth. I was just wondering: One kind of cooking apparatus (Preferably non electric) do you recommend?
Most larger stores that sell kitchen gadgets, such as wal-mart, have what I call a griddle. It fits over two eyes of your stove and has ridges on one side to make grill marks and flat on the other side for regular frying. Doesn't really have the smoky flavor of grilling outside but you can always add a little liquid smoke to compensate. What I have is called a nordicware reversible nonstick griddle and sells for 26.97 at walmart.com. Works great for me.

Help with electric oven broiler?
Jan 16, 2009 by Nixon! | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I have a electric oven broiler and i want to use it for hot wings, i never use the broiler before. I just see a slide under the oven and a little grill thing and a pan in it. Do i put what ever i am cooking on top of the grill?
And are there any loud sounds that it makes that is normal?
Never heard any loud noises, but yes, you put the food on the broiler pan and place 4-6 inches below the heating element, turn food often.
