I have a one burner grill can you still cook ribs on it?
Dec 26, 2008 by shades_is_here_now_too | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
it's a small portable one long burner grill is there a way to cook ribs on it without messing up the ribs, if so can you give me a recipe for it.
It isn't a recipe, but just a method. Ribs need slow moist cooking.
I start mine by par-boiling in water with a clove studded onion.
Cutting them into 3 bone sections will make handling easier.
Boil for at least 1/2 hour on low heat, until tender.
Finish by grilling over medium low flame, turning to brown sides.
Brush with BBQ sauce for the last 10 minutes, do not let burn.
BBQ SAUCE:
Fry a chopped onion in oil, over medium heat until soft.
Or you could chop up the onion used to par-boil the ribs.
Add can of tomatoes or tomato sauce or 1 cup of ketchup.
Mix in 2-3 tbsp of prepared mustard, or 1-2 tsp dry mustard.
Dissolve 1/4 cup of brown sugar or 2 tbsp of molasses.
Add 1-2 tbsp of whatever vinegar you like: malt, cider, balsalmic, etc.
Bring to a simmer & reduce, then brush over the ribs.

Me and my family are going to go camping during the Thanksgiving break. It's pretty much our first real time camping and we're a little lost on what we need!
This is our list so far:
- 2 sleeping bags (15-20 degrees F)
- 3 airbag mattress...things
- a tent
- a grill
- 3 portable chairs
- a pan set
- condiment set
- head lamps
- food
- water
I feel like something's missing.

How often should I clean my outdoor portable electric grill?
Nov 13, 2008 by ericbryce2 | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My Dad gave me his outdoor portable electric grill that has permanent coals, brickette shaped rocks. I did not get an owners manual. I cleaned the grill inside and out and boiled the rocks to clean them as best I could. Now after a couple of uses I clean the unit inside and out and boiled the rocks again each time. Am I doing wrong to try and clean the rocks or should I clean everything BUT the rocks?
Clean the grill part (where you cooker the meat) each time you use it.

How much are small portable propane grills worth? Will pawnshops take them?
Nov 01, 2008 by Roxi_man727 | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I have a small portable propane grill, it has a small grill and has a propane tank connected on the side. Just wondering on value, want to pawn it.
keep the stove. Maybe you can sell it to somebody. A pawn shop wont give you three dollars for it. Why would you think of selling anything to a pawn shop. Put an ad in the paper and really sell it. Pawn shops prey on desperate people.

Question on Fossil Fuels : COal?
Oct 28, 2008 by ヒラリー | Posted in Earth Sciences & Geology
okay. so i have to do something with coal for homework. I'm researching everywhere to find out generally what coal is. I only find out how its made.
Which of the following below best matches with coal?
-energy from heat inside earth
-energy from flowing water
-energy from wood and waste and garbage
-energy from splitting atoms
-portable fossil fuel used in grills
-fossil fuel for cars, trucks and jets
-fossil fuel gas moved by pipeling
-energy in rays from the sun/
The energy in coal comes from the energy stored by plants that lived hundreds of millions of years ago, when the earth was partly covered with swampy forests. For millions of years, a layer of dead plants at the bottom of the swamps was covered by layers of water and dirt, trapping the energy of the dead plants. The heat and pressure from the top layers helped the plant remains turn into what we today call coal.
HOW COAL IS USED
About 92 percent of the coal used in the United States, is for generating electricity. Except for a small amount of net exports, the rest of the coal is used, as a basic energy source in many industries, including, steel, cement and paper. The four major uses of coal are:
FOR ELECTRIC POWER
Coal is used to generate almost half of all electricity produced in the United States. Besides electric utility companies, industries and businesses with their own power plants use coal to generate electricity. Power plants burn coal to make steam. The steam turns turbines which generate electricity.
FOR INDUSTRY
A variety of industries use coal's heat and by-products. Separated ingredients of coal (such as methanol and ethylene) are used in making plastics, tar, synthetic fibers, fertilizers, and medicines. The concrete and paper industries also burn large amounts of coal.
FOR MAKING STEEL
Coal is baked in hot furnaces to make coke, which is used to smelt iron ore into iron needed for making steel. It is the very high temperatures created from the use of coke that gives steel the strength and flexibility for products such as bridges, buildings, and automobiles.
From your features the best will be: fossil fuel used in grills.
