Poll: Where can I find hardwood lump charcoal this time of year?
Jan 18, 2009 by Penny Laine Makes Glazed Donuts | Posted in Polls & Surveys
Home Depot and Lowe's do not have it in stock yet.
I bought a new smoker and need this!
(There is no grilling or bbq section!)
Thanks everyone!!!
try a fireplace shop or a farrier supply/ feed and grain store. or look for blacksmiths supply's. tmm
if you are just going to be smoking something think of green wet wood and regular charcoal.

How BIG of a firebox?
Jan 15, 2009 by d-izzy | Posted in Do It Yourself (DIY)
im building a BBQ grill/smoker and i need to know how big of a firebox do i need to properly produce the right amount of smoke . the bbq grill is 8ft with a 30" diameter .
for the smoker part a 24"x18" would be more that adequate but for using as a grill you would need the entire 8' for even grilling, Just Guessing

What is the best rust remover for a smoker/grill?
Jan 14, 2009 by Me | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I was looking at naval jelly but I'm not sure
i would only use cooking oil on the grill so that it is food safe. try rubbing it on with a paper towel and then scrubbing with your wire bbq brush. wipe again with paper towel.

Help with a Texas Brisket...any ideas...?
Jan 09, 2009 by c.noir | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I grew up in Texas and my dad was the go to guy for beef brisket, now I live in L.A, I have a charcoal grill but not a smoker. How can I get that great flavor in my oven. Should I cook it on the grill for a while over low heat the move it to the oven. Any help or ideas would be great. Side note my father passed away a 4 years ago and I never got around to asking him how he did his brisket.
i don't know alot about it, but i seem to remember that you should marinate it for at least a day and then cook very low and slow.
