Best way to clean a charcoal Weber BBQ.?
Oct 20, 2008 by Raptor | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
My Weber (whole bbq, not just the grill) is in need of a decent cleaning. The usual scrubbing with warm soapy water does not work anymore... Any advice?
I don't want to use any chemicals that can damage the porcelain surface.
Hi Raptor, Don't you just like those Weber's, great for cooking bugger to clean, until I found CLR, and I have used engine degreaser and my Weber is still going strong, doesn't leave any after smell if you rinse well. Read the warning label. The only other suggestion, and I should practice what I preach, is contact Weber direct by email and ask them their advice. Raptor there is a lot of stuff on the market your choice really, and depends on how caked your weber is. Oven cleaner is great, there again depends on what you have cooked, some things can be darn nasty to get off.

If so, how?
yes just turn one side off, put the meat on the cold side. put some wood chips in foil, seal the foil, poke holes in the foil, and put on the flame. cook on low till meat is done with cover closed

Can I make pulled pork on a propane BBQ?
Jul 06, 2008 by kate K | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
Hello! My husband and I trying to make pulled pork for a bbq. Since, he insists on using his weber propane grill, I'll be doing a separate batch in the oven.
I am wondering if it's possible to cook pulled pork straight on a grill? Most websites I've visited have said to use a smoker or a second top rack. Unfortunately, the Weber is small and only has the main grill, no other racks... nor would there be room for another rack, since it is so small and the lid doesn't allow for much room.
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.
To add; we can't go out and buy a smoker or any other cooker... and he doesn't want to cook it any where other than the grill... I've tried. :)
Thanks!
low and slow...
use indirect heat and if you aren't going to use wood chips for smoke then put some apple juice in a foil pan under the pork (beneath the grill, above the flames) so that it can help keep the air in the grill moist and help flavor the pork...

Are BBQ grill plates dishwasher safe?
Jul 04, 2008 by isittheweekendyet2002 | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
Does anyone know if it's safe to put the grill plates of the weber e210 bbq in the dishwasher?
Thanks
M
Depends on what they are made of. The only thing that a dishwasher could do the them, if by some miracle it got them clean, is to make cast iron plates rusty (bad). If the plates have a lot of baked on crud then you are gonna have to get medieval on them with a scraper or oven cleaner or toss them in a self cleaning over and run the cycle.
After cleaning cast iron you must immediately dry them and coat them with cooking grease or oil so they don't rust in a few minutes.

Am I right to be skeptical about BBQ grills that are painted?
May 23, 2008 by Ashia B | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I picked up a little cute BBQ grill from Freecycle one day and we have used it a few times, but now I noticed that the paint is starting to peel on the inside of the lid. This BBQ is cute 'cause it looks like the Weber Jr. which I plan to buy for a replacement. I still feel uncomfortable about giving it away to anyone. I know the hardware stores sell spray to re-do your Q, but that doesn't prove it's a save thing. What is your opinion?
I would NOT use a grill that has peeling paint... I bet it was made in china... Either sand blast it off or throw it away or take it back... I actually bought a cheap hibachi at the supermarket and when I opened the box the actual grill part had peeling silver paint!!! yup, made in china... GROSS and probably NOT healthy... I showed it to customer service... they ended up pulling them ALL off the shelves...
