Have LP grill with male POL connector to the tank. Tanks are now Type 1. How do I convert male POL to Type 1?
Oct 25, 2008 by eddyk | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
Weber LP gas grill about 15 years old that has a male POL connection to the propane tank (old style tank) All new propane tanks seem to be a Type 1 connection. I'd like to convert the the grill's male POL connector to the connect to the new style type 1 propane tanks. I'm guessing that requires a female POL to female Type 1 adapter? How do I make the conversion? BTW - The connector on the grill is not a screwed onto the burner piping - it's actually looks like some sort of crimped on connection -- so its seem like it would be difficult to change the grill's connection.
Can I use a pot or pan on a portable grill? I am looking for a new camping grill and am not sure what to buy
Aug 03, 2008 by blueridge | Posted in Camping
I had a standard Coleman gas one with a burner on one side and a grill on the other. It just broke so I need to buy a new stove and/or grill. If I buy a portable gas grill without a burner can I put a pot, pan or coffee percolator on it? Also, if I get one of these... Is it safe to use lava rocks or briquettes? Won't this help with heat distribution? So far the Weber Go-Anywhere Grill looks like something that might work but I am not sure about the above questions. Thanks a ton!
The Weber Go-Anywhere grill is great. Of course you can put a pot on it and use it like a stove. The thing I like about the Weber's is the temp is easy to control. I use the propane model, but Briquettes are fine on the other models, not on the propane ones though.

Gas Grill lights but has a small flame even when valves are wide open?
Jun 11, 2008 by VJEMW | Posted in Maintenance & Repairs
My Weber Grill several times a year will act up. I go out to grill and the flame will barely light and opening the burner valves does not help, the grill will sit at about 130 degrees and will preheat no further. I try taking off the connect at the tank, I try playing with the tank valve, open, shut, open shut, I remove the hose to the grill from the tank.. sometines it works and sometimes it doesnt fix it ultimately.. then all of a sudden it will fix itself and will light up full and preheat fine.. replaceing the tank with a full one seems to solve the problem, but I don't think that it really solves the problem.. It seems when the tank gets down to about 1/3 full, it starts acting up like this.. And no the tank is not empty because I will swap tanks and it will work, then weeks later when I have the problem again I put the old 1/3 full tank back on it works fine?
Thanks for any help!
Remove and clean the burners and the tube that directs the gas to the burners. Most times it is spider webs that are blocking proper gas flow.

How many racks of baby back ribs can I cook at once?
Jun 07, 2008 by Gregory W | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I have a weber gas grill. I've cooked 2 slabs of baby back ribs, only using the back burner. That is good for 4-6 people. I would like to cook maybe 4 slabs or more. However I do not have the grill space. Can I stack the ribs directly on top of each other? Has anybody had luck with that? How else can I cook more ribs?
go to orchard supply hardware, home depot, wal mart, or a bbq store and buy a couple of rib racks. I hace a charbroil pro, charcoal smoker and can use 4 rib racks filled with ribs with the lid closed. thats 16 racks of ribs! you can maybe fit 2 racks but measure your grill to be sure.

New Gas Grill?
Apr 27, 2008 by pop313 | Posted in Other - Home & Garden
I can't afford a Weber but don't want a piece of junk that is going to rust away.
I had a Kenmore grill for 5 years and at the end of last summer died on me.
I put a lot of money into it replacing burners and the thermometer and various other parts.
Does anyone know of a good midlevel grill that will last some years if taken care of and covered properly.
I keep seeing uniflame and brinkman grills everywhere.
also what about charbroil and perfect flame charmglow?
We had the same Charbroil grill for 12 years. We did have to replace the burner a few times, tho.
