How does the breville juicer BJ200xl compare to the jack lalanne juicer? Which one do you think is better?

Why is the Lalanne Juicer supposed to be hard to clean?
Jan 02, 2009 by j p 2000 | Posted in Vegetarian & Vegan
I was considering either a Jack Lalanne or Breville juicer, either the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer Classic or a Breville Juice Fountain Compact. I keep reading that the Lalanne is difficult to clean and the Breville is easy, but they seem to have the same basic parts. Both have the top part with the chute, both have a pulp collector, both have a blade and filter. So, what exactly makes the Lalanne so much more diffuclt to clean? Is it difficult to remove the blade with the crescent tool?
Is the Jack Lalanne Juicer any good?

How long does it take to clean the Jack Lalanne Power Juicer? I have heard complaints that it takes a long time. Does it take any longer than any other typical juicer? Do you like yours? I hear good and bad things about them and don't know what to believe. I was also considering a Breville Juice Fountain Compact.
Lalanne or Breville Juicer?
Jan 02, 2009 by j p 2000 | Posted in Vegetarian & Vegan
Do you think the Lalanne or Breville juicer is better. The ones I have in mind are the Lalanne Classic and Breville Juice Fountain Compact.
I have heard that the Lalanne is more difficult to clean.
Is it difficult to find replacement parts (like cutters) for the Breville?
I've owned the Jack Lalane Classic and now the Breville Ikon juicer. Hands down I would buy the Breville. The Lalane unit was more trouble than it was worth. It was very difficult to clean, but I thought that was the world of juicing until I bought my Breville.
The Breville unit has a large feed chute, 5 speeds for soft to hard fruit; and it's much more convenient to clean. In general it feel more sturdy and extracts much more juice for the same amount of fruit. The pulp comes out dry. I've never replaced any of the juicer parts, but I did call customer service about getting a second part for our espresso maker and they were quite helpful and prompt in sending a second filter basket.

What do you guys think?.. I just bought a Breville Juicer?
Dec 22, 2008 by I_AM_THAT_DUDE | Posted in Vegetarian & Vegan
Ive been making a mix of: Apples pears grapes papaya celeri, brocoli beets radishes spinich and bannanas.. after the jucier seprates the pulp and left overs from the juice, then i put all that pulp and juice in the blender and make a really thick smoothie....Is it healthy to juice and then blend the bi product of the juicer?... i would think i get all of the nutrition that way?.. what do u think?
Do you mean blend the extracted juice with the leftover pulp? I think that would taste awful and have a horrible consistency.
The best use I've found for the pulp is to put it on the garden.
If you're juicing bananas you're wasting them - you may not have noticed as you're juicing lots of things together, but bananas yield almost no juice. It's less of a waste and much more tasty to blend bananas with the juice you make.
How do you find that mix of fruit and veg? Other than apples and pineapples, juicing fruit with veg doesn't really work. Try using fewer ingredients at a time - I bet you'll enjoy it more.
But always juice carrots, apple or pineapple, or a combination of them, when you juice veg. Apart from carrots and tomatoes most veg juices are undrinkable on their own. Beetroot/beet juice for example has an earthy, muddy bitter taste. Mix it with carrot and apple - delicious.

I like this juicer - it makes great juice and it’s fairly easygoing to clean.

Nice Juicer (2008-09-11)
We have a large garden and if the zucchini was too big I juiced that first because it Nautical port very little pulp to clean out of machine. I then put in a bunch of carrots or any other fruit that was getting too old or over seasoned. That alone made the juice drinkable however I add a half of bottle of the new V8 veg/juice drink (light) to give the liquid a sweeter taste. The bananna’s in the V8 improved the flavor too. The only thing that is annoying is cleaning the juicer after the carrots and other fruit (it fills up loose) but it is easy to do. I made a carrot cake fromt the carrot pulp and that worked out well. There are a lot of other carrot recipes at www.allrecipes.com I guesswork you can make baby food from the pulp too. I recommend doing a large extent on weekends making a gallon and drinking it throughout the week. You really have to be into juicing to get a lot of use from this manufacture. I don’t know how much I’ll use it in the winter time but it does make me seem to be better not throwing over-ripe produce out.
