I get sick a lot and my dr. told me to eat healthy. I hate vegetables! I buy raw and frozen and they go bad.?
Jan 12, 2009 by Teresa | Posted in Diet & Fitness
Does using a juicer make them taste better, is V8 juice a good substitue? Any helpful suggestions will be appreciated.
I'm grown up and vegetable taste bitter to me.
Dont let them go bad. make them in your food you need 5 to 10 fruit and veggies a day!. make sure you eat them before anything else. they are the hardest to get into your diet if you eat stuff like hamburger helper and chicken nuggets everyday... french fries dont count...
try veggie recipes quiches stews and side dishes!... some ways i get them into mine is. putting spices on some... lemonpepper is a good one to put on green beans asparagus snowpeas.... have you tried canned veggies? they are kinda salty but just as good as fresh!

I just got a juicer and want to know if drinking the juice will give me a serving of fruit or vegetable? ?
Jan 08, 2009 by Mawm | Posted in Diet & Fitness
Doesn't the bulk or fiber count as some of the nutrition or am I wrong? Will I need to use more of a food item (two apples instead of one for example) to get the same amount of nutrition?
Thanks in advance. God bless you for true answers.
I don't 100% know the answer for certain, but logic would tell me that you are getting the equivalent nutritional value in a 1:1 ratio assuming you don't change the molecular structure of the nutrients (i.e. by heating or chilling them).
The information on juicers was fairly limited on Wikipedia, but it was still interesting to learn that juicing can concentrate the phytochemicals and antioxidants, which sounds like a good thing!

Should I get a Blender or Juicer?
Jan 02, 2009 by Cutie | Posted in Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Hey,
Since i cant stand the taste of vegetable, i think that it would be best if i drank it and use it with fruit, which normally over power the taste of vegetable when combine together but still have the same nutritional values. What do u think is better to use, a blender or a juicer in getting the job done.
A blender is the better choice. They can be used for a variety of purposes, whereas the juicer does only one thing. It takes a lot of fruit & vegetables to put through the juicer (so that can be expensive), and then the pulp is usually discarded (which means missing out on the benefits of fibre in the diet). While I have both machines, the juicer hasn't been used in three years. The blender gets used at least twice per day, and it's much easier to clean.

Juicing a Hassle? Find the Solution
Hello,
I found this article on Mercola.com and it talks about the pre-eminence of juicing and consumption of vegetables. This is especially prevalent on my blog because I spend a lot of period talking about the Berry Feast from Uri International, which is a non-pasteurized whole food organic pub-crawl toast. Just keep in mind while reading the article that the Berry Feast gives you everything certain plus more than what is recommended for your daily diet. For more information on how you can live healthy and eat integrity, click the Berry Feast tab in the navigation bar.

Reasons to Juice
There are three biggest reasons why you will want to consider incorporating vegetable juicing into your optimal health program:
Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. This is weighty because most of us have impaired digestion as a result of making less-than-optimal food choices over many years. This limits your corps's ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. Juicing will help to "pre-digest" them for you, so you will pull down most of the nutrition, rather than having it go down the toilet.
Juicing allows you to consume an optimal amount of vegetables in an efficacious manner. If you are a carb type, you should eat one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of main part weight per day. Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a petulant glass of vegetable juice.
You can add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet. Many people eat the same vegetable salads every day. This violates the probity of regular food rotation and increases your chance of developing an allergy to a traditional food. But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally use eating whole.
If you are new to juicing, I recommend a mid-priced juicer. The cheap centrifugal juicers (like the Juiceman) crack easily, produce low quality juice,...
