Which brand is the Best Rice Cooker?
Sep 14, 2006 by somber_pieces | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
There are a few poorly designed rice cookers available, though I think Panasonic had the best, except I can't find any Panasonic Rice cookers, I've looked everywhere. did they go out of business?
What is the second best rice cooker available?
I have a 3 cup White Westinghouse rice cooker. It was inexpensive, and I've had it for several years and never had a problem with it. It is reliable and not too big, which is great for storage. I am completely happy with it. The White Westinghouse brand is sold at KMart and I think WalMart.

to avoid rice sticking at the bottom of rice cooker?
Apr 02, 2008 by MSK | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I bought a panasonic electric rice cooker (It is not an non stick) ordinary lid, I don't know how to use, because the rice got sticking at the bottom, even if i keep the water level as 1: 2 ratio. Can any of you guide me.
One more thing can anyone guide me about making variety rice (like biriyani) in electric cooker.
Thank you for your answer in advance.
i believe the ratio for rice is 3 water to 1 rice. try a shot of pam or rub a small amount of oil on the bottom of the pot. the rice may have stuck because it ran out of water and the rice baked on the bottom.

How to use a rice cooker?
Nov 13, 2008 by Alma F | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
I purchased a panasonic rice-o-mat at a yard sale and it didn't have directions. It has the electric outside base,a top, a metal inside bowl, a small plastic cup, and a plate with holes in it.Can anyone tell me what the pieces are for, how they're used and rice/water ratios?
Rinse the rice and drain the water out.
normally, one cup jasmine rice or other similar "oriental" rice to one cup water.
Push button and let it cook . . . when the button pops up. it is finished.
You can add a little salt to the water.
2 cups rice - - - 2 cups water
3 cups rice - - - 3 cups water tc etc . . .
I can't say how many cups of rice you can cook in your pot, but there should be something written on the side of the rice pot marking how many cups.
Shoyo sauce or sprinkle a little nori and eat.

The plate with holes is for steaming vegetables.
Place metal plate in pot.
Wash vegetables . . .
Add vegetables like brocolli, carrots, potatoes,
and only 1 cup water.
Push button and let it cook.
When button pops up, it is finished.
Simple . . .

I want to buy a rice cooker to cook congee and soup, any suggestions?
Feb 03, 2008 by cc | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
Have you try Sanyo ECJ-D100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Steamer, or Zojrushi or panasonic?
You just need a standard rice cooker, no fancy crap. One cup of white rice needs one cup water, one cup brown rice needs 1 1/2 to 2 cups water.
If its congee, one cup white rice needs two cups water, one cup brown rice needs 2 1/2 cup to 3 cups water.

I have an Aroma rice cooker, and love it! I got it at Target.
I love that I can steam vegetables at the same time as I am making rice.
