Have you used Sanyo rice cooker to cook soup or stews? Do you like the results?

I don't think this is possible for the following reason: Unlike a "slow cooker" a (most) rice cookers are designed to shut off after a specific cooking time. If they didn't have this element of design, rice would be overcooked or burned. Most rice cookers that I have seen start out with about a 20-30 min. high heat cycle to cook the rice then switch over to a "steam" (i.e. lower heat setting). Now I don't know about the Sanyo model...but if it does have other settings, I personally would go with high heat on the intial first hour of cooking and then bring it down to the med/low setting for the remaining cooking time.

Have you try Sanyo ECJ-D100S 10-Cup Micro-Computerized Rice Cooker/Steamer, or Zojrushi or panasonic?
You just need a standard rice cooker, no fancy crap. One cup of white rice needs one cup water, one cup brown rice needs 1 1/2 to 2 cups water.
If its congee, one cup white rice needs two cups water, one cup brown rice needs 2 1/2 cup to 3 cups water.

Rice Cooker Recipe : Curry Chicken
If you true-love to use rice cooker to cook simple meal and love my early post that using rice cooker to cook spaghetti, then I might have this another unembellished rice cooker recipe for you to try out.
The Curry Chicken.
Hmm, I love curry chicken, and using rice cooker to cook curry chicken can be amenable as 123:)
Well here is the recipes:
Ingredients To Prepare
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons curry mechanical
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato backchat
1 (8 ounce) package zatarain’s jambalaya mix
3/4 cup patent yogurt
1/2 cup golden raisin
1/3 cup chopped cashews
Diminish By Step Instruction:
Hit Cook and place oil in pan then Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 5 minutes or until onion is caring.
Add curry powder; cook and stir 2 minutes.
Add water, tomato sauciness, Jambalaya Mix chicken and raisins mix well.
Close Lid and hit COOK after cooker switched over to Warm shift off the Rice cooker and stir in yogurt.
Let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle with cashews.
Now, it’s on the point of to serve:)
