Buying a Zojirushi rice cooker. When it says a "3 cup cooker" does that mean 3 cups cooked or uncooked rice?

What model do you use?
You didn't state which model, in the high end model, yes, at the lower end no because it's just for rice cooking and uses a heat sensitive timer to switch to the warming stage when rice is done.
Rice and Beef Soup (Rice Cooker)
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups long grain rice (2 rice cooker cups)
10 cups water
1 tablespoon fresh parsley , chopped
1 tablespoon fresh chives , chopped
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary , chopped
salt and pepper
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon , ground
2 lbs beef , cubed
Prep:
1Add the rice, water, parsley, chives, rosemary, and pepper to a 10 cup or larger rice cooker.
2For a simple rice cooker, turn it on. For a fancy (fuzzy logic) rice cooker, set the rice cooker to the quick cook setting and start.
3Cover and allow to come to a simmer.
4Add the beef and cinnamon, cover again, and allow to cook for 60 minutes.

how can one clean the bottom of a rice-cooker (i.e. zojirushi), specifically the metal plate on bottom?

there is a metal plate that sits underneath the removable pot that boils the rice. can this be removed? if not, how can one go about cleaning it? residue of the steamed rice (startchy substance) gets onto it and causes burning after multiple uses when not cleaned.
Use a product called Bar keeper's friend. It is powder like comet but not abraisive like comet. It is good for stainless steel cookware and sinks and stuff like that. Use a kitchen sponge with an abrasive side the two together work great. You can get it at a kitchen store if your supermarket or hardware store does not have it.

Zojirushi rice cooker NP-FS10V7-XK instruction?

I got a new Zojirushi NP-FS10V7-XK rice cooker but i don't know how to use it because it is all in Japanese. I can not find an English manual for this rice cooker any where. Look like this one is availble in Japan only. I search for a similar US model at Zojirushi US website but found none. If you have this rice cooker, please give me description in English about all the buttons and display in and around LCD. Thanks.

Can you cook goya packaged rice in a rice cooker?

I have a Zojirushi Rice cooker (6 cups) and was wondering if I could cook Rice and Black Beans packaged goya rice in it? I heard a rumor only white/brown rice can be made in it. Please help!! Thanks.
I would not cook anything other than plain rice in a rice cooker. The spices from pre packaged mixes will get into the steam jets and you'll never be able to get rid of the smell. I ruined my rice cooker by adding saffron powder to plain rice.

Rice Cooker Recipe : Curry Chicken
If you darling to use rice cooker to cook simple meal and love my early post that using rice cooker to cook spaghetti, then I might have this another unvarnished rice cooker recipe for you to try out.
The Curry Chicken.
Hmm, I love curry chicken, and using rice cooker to cook curry chicken can be peacefully as 123:)
Well here is the recipes:
Ingredients To Prepare
2 tablespoons oil
2 cups water
1 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons curry puissance
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato gall
1 (8 ounce) package zatarain’s jambalaya mix
3/4 cup pampas yogurt
1/2 cup golden raisin
1/3 cup chopped cashews
Consonant with By Step Instruction:
Hit Cook and place oil in pan then Add onion and garlic; cook and stir 5 minutes or until onion is soft-hearted.
Add curry powder; cook and stir 2 minutes.
Add water, tomato sassiness, Jambalaya Mix chicken and raisins mix well.
Close Lid and hit COOK after cooker switched over to Warm rise up against a reverse off the Rice cooker and stir in yogurt.
Let stand 5 minutes. Sprinkle with cashews.
Now, it’s adroit to serve:)
