I have a gray gritty film on my cookie sheets and some pots? What is it?

It isn't on any of my cups, bowls, silverware, etc. It is rough,gritty and medium gray in color and comes off with a Brillo steel wool pad. It appears mainly on stainless steel items: cookie sheets, some pots, bottom of rice cooker. Anyone know what it is??

It's oxidation, rust. Even stainless reacts to heat and oxygen to some extent.

Can i put water on hot stainless steel pressure cooker?

i just burned rice which was being cooked in a stainless steel pressure cooker

can i wash away all that burnt stuff right now, or should i wait until it cools off?

Put hot water in it so it won't crack the pot, add some bicarb and leave to soak a day.

Do you know of any rice cooker that's made of stainless steel?

The common rice cookers are made of aluminum and teflon. These chemicals are known to cause some diseases if used regularly for a very long time. Does anyone know where I could get a stainless steel one or does it even exist?

Yes, they exist and yes, I know where to purchase one.

I am looking for a rice cooker that has a ceramic or stainless steel pot. The only rice cookers I seem to find are Teflon or "non-stick" coated, and this just won't do. Can you recommend any rice cooker manufacturer(s) and brand(s) that have the ceramic or stainless steel pot?
I do not live near a Chinatown and being in a small town, I don't have too many local options. Can anyone recommend a suitable rice cooker somewhere on the internet? I have looked all through eBay and Amazon without any luck...
