Hello! How do I make toast?
Jan 19, 2009 by Jim Carrey | Posted in Cooking & Recipes
Hello, I have just moved from my parents house, and I want to make some toast for breakfast, the problem is that I can't fit pieces of bread in the food slicer and it broke the pieces of bread instead of cooking them. So I just brought this toaster but I can't the bread in the toaster properly, so how do I insert the piece of bread so it cooks properly?
tina k is hot!
Ok just cut the slices of bread in half to fit the toaster.. if the bread is too wide then you need to buy thinner bread slices or slice it thinnner. you can buy bread already sliced at the grocery store and also at the bakeries. that should fit well in your toaster .. The other option is to make sure you buy a wide slot toaster so the wide bread will fit

Does anyone have a tofu bread recipe? Where can a multiple wire tofu cake slicer be obtained?

Enjoy the wholesome goodness of my tofu beer bread:
In a bowl add 1 can of full bodied beer (room temp.)
1/2 C. granulated sugar
3 Pkgs. quick rise yeast.
Stir together. Set aside.
In the mixer bowl add
3 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 cup flax seeds
Mix thoroughly
With the stir blade in place add:
the beer-yeast mix
1 block of silken tofu (don't drain)
1/4 C. canola oil
Mix on medium speed for 3-5 minutes.
Change to the dough hook:
Add additional flour, 1 cup at a time , kneading all the while
until the dough ball is elastic and pulls away from the bowl.
Approximately 3-4 additional cups are needed.
Continue kneading for a minimum of 10 min.
Prepare 7 squares of aluminum foil to cover the coffee cans.
Thoroughly spray or oil (canola) the cans (13 oz.)
Turn oven on to warm. Place a shallow bowl with 2 cups of water on the bottom rack.
Move dough from mixer to a lightly floured surface.
Roll into a log about the diameter of your arm.
Divide into 7 equal parts, rolling each into a sphere.
Drop each into a coffee tin. Liberally spray tops with canola oil or Pam.
Cover loosely with the aluminum squares.
Place in oven. Let rise in oven for approx. 1 hr. or until they push up the covers.
Without moving tins or the covers, turn oven up to 400 F and bake for 15 min.
Turn oven down to 350 F. Bake for 20 min. more.
Test internal temperature of a loaf. At 190 F. the bread is done.
Immediately remove from tins and cool on wire rack

I bought a 'Slice-a-Slice" made in Duncanan Pa. How does it it work?
Aug 22, 2008 by Carol R. | Posted in Other - Food & Drink
I got it at a yard sale but can't figure it out. Ebay has a few and it seems to be a bread slicer, but I don't see how. It looks like 2 graters put together inside out!
Can anyone explain it to me? I'm baffled. Thanks
Put a slice of bread inside and close it. Take a bread knife (a long jagged rectangular knife) and saw it back and forth through the entire contraption through the slits in the side. Go all the way down, then open the device. Now you have two very skinny slices of bread, and you can make tea sandwiches or just cut down on carbs!
