How can I make my own sliced roast beef at home?

I have a 5.5 pound bottom round roast. I want to know if it's possible to cook it in a way that it will come out like the roast beef you buy at the deli? I have a meat slicer to slice it. I think I read somewhere that you stick it in the oven at a very high temperature for a while, then turn the oven to low for about an hour, but I'm not sure of the temps or times....or even if thin cut is good for roast beef, but it's what I have. any help would be great. Thanks!!
A deli style roast beef is easy to prepare... It just takes a bit of time. Also, your cut of meat doesn't have the best marbling for a really tender roast.
Cook it slowly at 200 degrees (about 30-35 minutes per pound.) until it reaches an internal temperature of 135 degrees Fahrenheit (medium well).
First get a roasting pan, that's big enough to hold the meat. Pour a half cup of water in the pan along with a 1/4 cup of Worcestershire sauce. (You may have to add more water/sauce later). This will steam flavour into the meat and prevent the meat juices from scorching the pan as they drip. Also the acid content in the Worcestershire will help to tenderize your tougher cut of beef. Next make a few half inch deep cuts in the meat and tuck a peeled clove of garlic in each cut. Next place the meat on a rack, and place the racked meat in the roasting pan. You can rub any other seasonings (Herbs, pepper, onion powder etc)... you want onto the meat at this time. If you're using a traditional meat thermometer place it into the thickest part of the roast at this time. If you'll be using an "Instant read" thermometer, check the temperature when the timer goes off.
Place your uncovered roast into the oven and set the timer. Once the roast is done, cover the pan with foil and let it sit on the counter for 25-30 minutes, to allow the juices to settle and distribute evenly throughout the meat. Once this time is up, place the meat in the fridge and allow it to get cold. Once the meat is cold, you can slice it. Be sure to slice across the grain of the meat, or it will be tough to chew.

I have been having a odd dream . It has been happening for a few months on and off. I am hoping someone could help me figure it out. I have been dreaming that I am using a deli meat slicer. Yet I am not cutting meat . I am slicing my finger tops off . All of them . Then I take the top guard off the machine and use the top part of the blade to slice open my wrists so I bleed to death. It has been the same exact dream each time I have had it. Anyone have any ideas about this one? Any help would be appreciated
I think there is more to it. The cutting off the tops of my fingers and such. I mean I have ideas. But I am no expert or even close to one. . I am thinking there is more to it.
I mean I am doing this in the dream on purpose. I am hurting , then killing myself with these actions. Any ideas?

I'm willing to buy a quality food slicer so that I can get deli-thin slices, but what kind of roast should I buy to get meat as similar as possible to Arby's? And what recipe should I use to prepare it?
You can make it using shaved roast beef from the deli ...the secret is the sauce. Here's a copycat recipe:
1 cup tomato ketchup
2 tsp. distilled white vinegar
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. hot sauce
In a small saucepan, bring all ingredients to a boil, stirring constantly.
Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for 8 minutes.
Remove from heat, cool, cover, and refrigerate up to 2 months.

How thin is deli thin sliced ham? ?

I am looking to buy a meat slicer for my mom for christmas! and the ones I've found in my price range say they cut from 1/32" to about 1/2" or so...
now i know what 1/32" is, im just not sure if that is "deli thin"
the other brands ive looked at say from "paper thin" to 9/10"
do you think 1/32" can compare to that of deli thin ham lets say?

If you stack up 32 slices of ham and it measures one inch high, don't you think those slices would have to be extremely thin?
I like the slices to be the thickness of a credit card, definitely not deli thin.
But you will be pleased with the One that sates it will cut from 1/32" to about 1/2" or so.

3. Set of pot & pans.
