Next to scrubbing on your hands and knees, what is the best way to clean vinyl or tile floors?

Assuming cost is not a concern, what mop or steamer is a sturdy product that cleans floors the best and is user-friendly?
What is a good steamer to get (thats also works well on couches/upholstery)?

Any use the Bissell Floor Steamer on Shower Walls?

I don't have one but if it will clean a tile floor and you can lift it, then why not. Sound like it would work. But I think I might just spray it down with tilex let it set and then wipe and rinse.

only one supplied with machine and as I have a dog, I need to be able to go over the kitchen quite frequently but the only cloth I have gets dirty very quickly, need replacements so I can switch to finish off task, anyone know where I can get them or a suitable alternative, in desperate need of solution as dog is driving me crazy!!!!!
Go to any thrift shop in your area and ask them for a bag of old cotton cloths.
We used to sell old Cotton tee shirts by the bag for only $1. a bag.

Any advice with Giardia!?
Dec 17, 2008 by Eric | Posted in Dogs
Ok here's the scoop. My poor puppy had Giardia about a week ago, he went through the Panacur (3-day) treatment, then was tested again at the end of the treatment...negative. This was on last Saturday, he's been doing great normal appetite, normal stools full of energy. Then today on the way home from day care he threw up in my car, but seems okay now. As for cleaning during his time sick we, threw out all his toys, threw out all of our rugs, cleaned the hardwood and tile with a medical disinfectant, nature's miracle then bought a steamer mop (needed something that steam cleaned but was not designed for carpet so we dont ruin the floor in the process). All his bathroom areas outside (mostly concrete) also got soaked in the medical cleaner stuff from home depot. Everyday we washed his bowls in anti-bacterial soap, and full hot tap water (our hot gets pretty hot). His bedding was all washed with hot water soap and bleach (just the covers not the stuffing). We even threw out all his leashes and collar and got new ones. If he throws up again or has another spell like last time he is going to the vet.
Do you think he got re-infected? Do you think we did enough to clean the house, we couldnt use the bleach since the floors are hardwood. Or do you think I am just being paranoid and he just got car sick (I did break gas break gas due to traffic).
he has never thrown up in the car, usually just passes out once he hits the seat. He's a very playful and energetic 4 month old puppy. The handlers say he plays almost all day, except when they separate him to nap (about an hour or so). Maybe its just my paranoia, of him getting sick, since he is my first puppy.
Giardia can be a bugger to treat and unfortunately, sometimes you have to keep re-testing before finding a positive result. I've treated dogs who I was SURE had giardia (there is a very distinctive smell in the poop sometimes) only to have cultures come back negative 3 times before a 4th showed a positive.
Panacur is the treatment of choice and if you have any doubt whatsoever that your dog is still infected, then talk to your vet about treating again.
The fact that your dog threw up in your car might not mean anything. His system has been off, he just finished a course of drugs, the bacteria in his gut is off so it's not beyond reason that under these circumstances he could be experiencing a little motion sickness even if he doesn't normally get motion sickness. Next time, try giving him a couple ginger capsules about 1/2 hour before the car ride. I'd do the ginger-thing for a couple weeks and see how it goes. Personally I wouldn't be concerned unless your dog starts throwing up daily including outside the car situation.
Good luck!
