Why do most toasters only have 2 slots in them?
Jan 16, 2009 by KC is a hottay with a body! XD | Posted in Polls & Surveys
maybe i want 3 slices of toast?!?....but nooo they only make 2 slots...so i have to make 2 then i have to wait just to put in another one....
maybe us canadians are behind in technology lol...i don't know anybody with a 4 slot toaster. lol
Most new ones are 4 now, 2's are still on the shelf, but they do make 4 slot, or get a toaster oven like me.

New company innovation! Your opinion? Restaurant Business?
Dec 10, 2008 by abwesehbwesehbweseh | Posted in Small Business
Hello, I am Mark James-E. Please address me by my name.
I am starting up a "Semi" Fast Food Business called MicroWA. This is a play on words from toast. The thing it is cooked in is a toaster- toast has 2 letters taken away, MicroWA is bread with assortment of trimmings/toppings E.g Butter,Marmite,Jam,Marmalade,Peanut Butter.
Cooked in a Microwave, this moist bread had a blindfolded taste test against toast in a county fair and out of 66 people 59 preferred MicroWA.
Projected gross in Leicester: £41,459
Projected gross in Hull: £32,846
Hull is premises cheaper - as almost £5000 rent cheaper a year.
Minus Employees taxes and payroll gross = £18,000 = around 14,846 in hull 23,459 in hull.
- Products and fittings bearing in mind I already own property in both Hull and Leicester meaning that I classified rent as mortgage and bills not actual rent. I have an uncle who is provisions at fittings and because he loves his family and has a big family he gives 75% family discount. So the approximate for that would be around £2240
Robbery costs- The average shop I heard gets robbed on average once every 16 months and an average of £632 of merchandise/equiptment gets stolen,
I project profit for the first year to be only £14,000
Second year based on selling 100 MicroWA a day for £0.59 a slice £28,000
Third year selling At both Coventry and Hull or Leicester Store would be £14000 projected for coventry and now due to popularity 400 MicroWA a day selling at £0.79 a slice making £102,000.
So, your opinions on this company innovation?
It's a good job the people were blindfolded, it sounds absolutely disgusting. Sorry.

Do you agree: Chain Store Pizza - Undercooked? (conveyor belt pizza oven-cooked)?
Dec 03, 2008 by TheMerchandise1 | Posted in Fast Food
Do your area chain\corporate pizza vendors such Pizza Hut, Little Caesar's, Papa Johns and\or Domino's Pizza in your area RUIN the pizza they are selling by simply not cooking it long enough?
I personally always asks for 'well baked', but some places, particularly Pizza Hut typically ignore the request.
Undercooked pizza is doughy, toppings are not crispy and cheese isn't well melted or 'toasty'. Sorry, but a pizza that only sees 8-minutes of oven heat is not properly baked.
I suppose the chain pizza places under cook their pizzas because
1) it faster to get more pizzas out
2) the ovens are programmed to move pizza through at one speed and it is not easily adjustable (and doing slow would infringe on pizza output for other customers - longer waits)
IMO longer waits are justified if the pizza is cooked longer. If you don't believe me buy a fresh Pizza Hut pie and when you bring it home put a slice in a toaster oven @ 350degrees for 15 minutes. Eat that slice and compare to one that isn't extra baked. The extra-cooked one will taste better... hands down. This is because the ingredients in the pizza have had a chance to combine (chemical reactions). It just tastes better.
I prefer local NY-style strip-mall pizza parlors, but unfortunately they are a rare breed in my area and especially in developing areas where the big corporate chains quickly dominate.
does anyone know how to fit a dualit toaster element for a 2 slice toaster.?

Toaster cleaning question?
Nov 18, 2008 by Dog Rescuer | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I have a 2 slice.T-FAL Avante toaster...about a year old...
We recently bought a new four slice toaster and do not need the 2 slice toaster anymore...it..We want to give it away but want it clean and in working condition..
Problem: even though there is a place on the bottom of the toaster to let crumbs out..There is a bottom place inside the toaster bottom that still has crumbs i cannot get out from the bottom or the top..
Suggestions for what kind of brush or something could go inside the slice slats and reach the bottom to brush the crumbs out that do not come out of the bottom..
Thanks for helpful answers and solutions..
Maybe a toothbrush?
