Why are people so afraid to have an opinion?

I had a discussion with a friend about whether someone would be disappointed if their kid turned out to be gay. My stance was that I would be disappointed. He then goes all out calling my a bigot and evil and this and that.
It seems to me that the couldn't handle me having a different opinion. I would never discriminate or cause harm but there's a growing notion if your opinion is different from someone elses than you're labeled the anti-christ and unethical.
Here are some of my opinions:
1) Homosexuality is just gross. Forget the morals or ethics. Slot A + B go fine together, but Slot A + C or A + A are disgusting. I've had the unfortunate luck of watching a gay porno and I fricking vomited and went soft in < 1 second. Nasty-ness without boundary.
2) The USA's policies are hypocritical in some cases esepecially those relating to torture. Torture is torture and no justification for information mandates that it be a viable route into which intelliegence be obtained.
3) I do not respect women as much as men, but I certainly like and want women. The world would suck with them....boobs.
4) Obama is over-rated and I don;t think he will live up to the hype.
5) Canadians suck.
6) Sean Hannity is a racist bigot who can't stand the notion of a multicultural USA
7) Japanese, chinese, filipino women are way, way, way hotter than white women...I have yellow fever and am proud of it
8) Blacks deserve reparations from whites. 200 years of being in slavery, man....unforgiveable
9) Infiniti is the best car maker ever
10) Jesus Christ is no more of a god than my toaster

You can have any opinion you’d like. Just don’t throw a hissy fit when you’re called out for having absurdly anti-intellectual or stupid ones.

Rewrite the following paragraph using as many vivid verbs
When I woke up that morning, everyone else in the house was gone. I didn't hear any sounds of life. I took a shower, put on my clothes, and went downstairs to the kitchen. I looked in the refrigerator, but there was nothing to eat except the same old thing. I took out two eggs, some bacon, and a piece of bread for toast. I also took out some orange juice. I put the eggs and bacon in the frying pan together. I quickly found out this would not work very well. Then I put the bread in the toaster and put the dial on "dark." The toast came out black. Now that I had done everything wrong, I put all the dirty dishes in the sink. I decided to go out for breakfast.

I got a Black & Decker, 4-Slice Toaster for Christmas this year, and I love it so much because it has a bagel button and my old toaster always burnt my bagels or didn't toast them at all.
At school people have asked "What did you get for Christmas?" and when I say, "I got a toaster!" they just laugh, even though I am being serious.
What is so funny about getting a toaster for Christmas? How can I stand up for my toaster?
Just over toast your bagel and throw it at their head.

Okay, so I have a mini oven/toaster and someone in our family put something in the oven to cause smoke. My dad thinks it was honey.
First it turned the aluminum foil in the oven black with bubbles. then mi father threw it away and the nxt day i was toasting my pop tarts and i looked down in the oven and i saw purple/clear bubbles.
it could probably be:
honey or the other day i washed it and sprayed it with lysol to clean it but that was after the aluminum incident
i dont know if it was some kind of chemical reaction

ok so my camera is a kodak i go to there site to try and figure it out to confusing. when i go to plug in the cord and plug into both the camera and computer my camera is still on but the screen to it goes black. its the right cord because it fits right in to my camera i got it for christmas and it is a confusing thing to do i really want to put some of my pictures on the computer especially fred the toaster strudel and his girlfriend but just to confusin
the screeen goes black when i plug in the cord to computr and camera cant figure out how to upload them actually. like can u give me a easy understanding way of doing it and why the screen goes black when i plug it in.
me too! I cant figure it out! Im downloading all these prgrams like firefox and mozilla and stuff, but I cant download any from my camera. I'll let you know if I find out.
