Does a large toaster oven do a good job at baking chicken and other food?
Is it convection type by far the best?
I've had mixed results with mine when cooking chicken... I have a convection type oven. It works really good for jerky. I only wish it was larger so i could make my own sausage, salami in sleeves of say 10-20 lbs.
The lights have begun to slightly flicker when I run the washing machine, any ideas why?
The larger portion of this house is approximately 50 years old. One large room was added. We have noticed that the circuit will flip if we have the toaster oven on and attempt to use the microwave at the same time. (They are on the same outlet.) If there are a lot of lights on at the same time and room ceiling fans, sometimes the lights will dim a bit. Today when I ran the washing machine, the lights flickered along with the agitation of the machine. Short of turning off all the lights, any ideas as to what the problem is and how to fix it, hopefully without an electrician.
Since your house is so old, it was probably not wired for a washer and dryer (I'm guessing here). That was probably done at a later time. Maybe the homeowner then just wanted to add a plug the least expensive way possible. It is a possibility that the additional plug was added to an existing lighting circuit (to save money) and that's what is causing your problem. To check this, just get a heavy duty extension cord and plug your washer into another outlet using the ext. cord. If your lights don't flicker, then that's most likely the problem. If they still flicker, then there's just too much drain on the power coming into your breaker box. You're house is probably rated at 220 amps (incoming) which was fairly common at that time. Homes now are usually built with a minimum of 440 amp loads (incoming). The last thing you should be aware of is your wiring. In the 60's and 70's, aluminum wiring was a very common practice (as opposed to copper) and has many inherent problems including overheating, fires, and load drain or loss of current flow. Your best bet is to call an electrician if the ext. cord doesn't work and at least find out what's going on. Best of luck!
Baking biscuits: I can't find my cookie sheet ?
Baking biscuits: I can't find my cookie sheet can I use a cake pan for drop biscuits? I would normally just ask next door but since I'm in China at the moment I am the only person I know with an oven (large toaster oven). Also does anyone know how long it takes to cook meatloaf in a toaster oven?
you can use the cake pan. Don't know how long to cook a meatloaf in toaster oven. At least 30 minutes but watch it!
Are there any Toaster/Ovens that are a usable inner large size out there?
I look in stores today and all I see is fairly small ovens. I don't care about the toaster part, you can't beat a regular toaster for toast. But if I wanted to roast a very large chicken or small turkey, tain't no ovens out there that I can see that's large enough. If there is what brand and possible model number?
I bought a countertop rotisserie that works great for up to about a 10 lb bird. Much bigger and the wingtips and legs hit the elements going around. It comes out nice and crisp all the way around and juicy inside. That might be better for what you want. Hang on and I'll find out the maker.
It's a George Foreman.

How do I adjust baking time/temperature to make mini pies?
I am planning on making mini pumpkin and apple pies with an after school group as a thanksgiving dessert for them to each bring home.
We have a large convection/toaster oven, but I'm not sure how the baking times/temperatures should be adjusted to compensate for the fact that they are so small. (We are using tart sized baking tins)
What I usually do when I make mini versions of a recipe is keep it the same temperature, and plan for the same time, but I watch it carefully and just experiment with it.
Like, does the recipe say something like "bake an hour, or until golden brown" or something? Just watch em until they meet the finished requirement. Make one of each mini pie for yourself for you to taste or test. If they don't taste/look done, then put em back in the oven.
I'm no professional chef so I'm sure there's probably a better way of figuring out the time, but...this is what i've always done.
